baby Scent Heart.jpg

“Scent Hearts” are given to parents of infants being cared for in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Harbor UCLA. The NICU parents wear these hand-sewn hearts next to their skin while they are away from the hospital. When the parent(s) return to the hospital, the scent heart they had been wearing while away is placed in the isolette with the infant, so that the baby can continue to bond with the parent(s) through scent transmission, even when the parents are unable to be present. Note: You may need to adjust or enlarge the printing parameters to meet the 7-inch diameter in the pattern.
